The Selection Series

This post is going to be a tad bit longer sine it's on three books instead of one so just bear with me! Before I started reading these books I was really skeptical because I thought I would not enjoy them however I loved them. They had romance, action, and were an overall fun read. Alright so in the First book America Singer is chosen to be apart of the Selection. This is basically like a dystopian form of the bachelor. Prince Maxon has to pick one girl, out of 35, to be the future Queen of their country, Illeá. There are 8 castes from which the girls are selected, America is a five, the idea is that the future Queen will be a commoner. As previously stated I am horrible with summaries so here is a better one: "When America Singer gets the invitation to register for the Selection, she dismisses it entirely. She is 16 years old, she is serious about her boyfriend, and she does not want to leave her family. But, the caste difference between her and her boyfriend Aspen is going to complicate life. She will be marrying down, and Aspen does not want a life of penury for her. He encourages her to register for the selection, and even when her name is called, she thinks she will just be dismissed, since other women will surely have a greater desire and greater talents to become the new princess. America makes some friends among the other women. When she meets the prince, she tells him that she does not want to be a princess, but she offers to be his friend and to help him make a good decision. Through many tests and trials, she banters with Prince Maxon and earns his regard and affection in spite of her refusal to exert herself.
When she starts to figure out that Prince Maxon is becoming devoted to her, Aspen shows up as one of the Royal guards at the palace, and the book ends with America being put in the position of having to choose between the prince and her boyfriend. She has feelings for both of them." I really enjoyed reading about all the characters and the obstacles they had to go through as the books progressed. I rate this whole series 5 stars! Alright if you have not read this than you need to quit reading NOW!!!  Did you stop? I hope so! If not don't blame me when you read the spoilers!
First I believe America is a strong and smart character but some things she did really made me angry! In the Elite when she tried to "seduce" Maxon this was my face while reading that entire scene! Maxon had every right to laugh America was acting like a complete Bimbo which is not who she truly is.

I looked more like Jafar than Genie in that part of the book! OK and then after everything that happened to Marlee I completely understand her hesitation to becoming a princess, HOWEVER the fact that America was shocked when Maxon got close to Kris surprised me! I mean she didn't honestly expect him to stay alone did she? Then the story goes on and she starts edging back to Aspen, while still having various feelings for The Prince. I really liked Aspen, which many don't! He was a jealous idiot in the first book but I thought he really matured as the story continued and that he grew into a really strong and independent character! LUCY AND ASPEN YASSSSS SO CUTE! Moving on, when America catches Maxon with Celeste she didn't even let him explain! She basically made a false assumption and decided right there she was going to throw the competition and take Maxon down with her!

OMG but shortly after America's little temper tantrum there is a rebel attack! Which by the way happen WAY too much! Like they need to hire some new guards because the ones they have are completely hopeless! Anyway Maxon and America get locked in a room together and you discover that the King WHIPS his OWN son! Maxon took the punishment that was intended for America because he loves her!
That made America regret her decisions! Anyway fast forward a little America gets to stay in the competition because Maxon covered for her AGAIN. MOVING ON to THE ONE! SOOOO MUCH happens in this book! I'm just going to put my reactions to the book because sometimes words just aren't enough!

REBELS

KRISS
CELESTE
AMERICA'S DAD DIES
AMERICAS DAD/KRIS/GAVRIL ARE REBELS AND THATS HOW THEY KNEW ABOUT THE BOOKS IN THE CATSLE CAUSE AMERICA TOLD HER DAD
AMERICA COMES BACK AND MAXON TELLS HER SHES THE ONE AND PROPOSES YET AGAIN
AMERICA TRIPS ON ASPEN AND OF COURSE MAXON AND KRIS HAPPEN TO WALK BY AT THAT VERY MOMENT AND MAXON DECIDES HE WON'T LISTEN TO AMERICAN AND SAYS THEY ARE OVER
REBEL ATTACK: CELESTE DIES AS DOES THE KING AND QUEEN! MAXON GETS SHOT PLUS TELLS AMERICA THAT IF HE DIES TO BE HAPPY AND THAT HE LOVES HER NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES SHE BREAKS HIS HEART LIKE A FLIPPING IDIOT! AMERICA THINKS HE DIED!

ASPEN IS ALL LIKE YO HE'S ALIVE PLUS IM IN LOVE WITH LUCY NOT YOU SOOOO BYE. IM GONNA KISS LUCY NOW!

THIRD TIMES THE CHARM MAXON PROPOSES, AMERICA SAY YES! THEY HAVE THE WEDDING AND ASPEN WALKS HER DOWN THE AISLE

AND THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER! WELL FOR THE MOST PART!

Shatter Me
By: Tahereh Mafi
I really enjoyed this book! I read it in one day. It kept me wanting more, so obviously I had to keep reading. If you have read this book then you will realize why I have decided to cross out the title of this book and why I am typing in green. If you have not read this book than I hope you come to realize these symbols as you move along the story. This story is set in a dystopian world, where humans have basically destroyed all plant and animal life. Soon after all these terrible things began to happen a group called the Reestablishment took over. Warner, a member of the reestablishment, has studied Juliette for a long time. This is because Juliette has a strange ability that allows her to cause others immense pain when she touches them. Warner wants to use her abilities in order to help the reestablishment control any who may oppose them. Fun right? That's basically the gist of the book, but I am terrible with summaries! I give this book 5 stars! It was very intriguing and left me wanting more! Definitely a book I would recommend!
(Summary, in case you think mine sucks, cause it probably does)
SPOILERS
I don't even know where to start, I loved all of the characters in this book! I'll start with the leading character, Juliette. She had so much character development in this book! In the beginning she hates herself because of her ability and believes that she is a true monster. As the story continues (more towards the end) she realizes that she is not a horrible person and really begins to come to terms with her powers. One person who helped her develop throughout the book was Adam. As you read you come to find out that he can touch her, unlike anyone else. He has loved Juliette since the day he first saw her when they were in third grade to the day he last saw her when she was 14. He always wanted to see her again and tell her of his feelings. This is why he volunteers to be the one sent to asylum to study her. Adam is a really sweet and kind character that makes your heart melt. All he wants is to save Juliette from Warner and finally love her like he has always imagined. Their relationship really develops as they get closer throughout the story. Moving on to Warner! I am not going to say he is not terrible because he is. He caused Juliette mental and physical pain that she did not deserve. He really wants her to utilize her abilities so she can torture rebels, and he'll use whatever means necessary to make this a reality. For starters, his solders abuse her, he has Adam beaten, and he made her harm an innocent child. HOWEVER don't pick between Warner and Adam just yet, because as the series continues your opinion of Warner may change drastically! Destroy me is a novella written in Warner's POV and it gave me a whole different perspective on his character! Some minor characters that I really enjoyed in this book were James and Kenji. James is Adam's younger brother and is such a sweet heart! He loves his brother more than anyone else and added some humor to the story line. Kenji was another character who was constantly making you laugh. Both of these characters were really enjoyable and funny. This book was a fast and easy read. The writing style was unique and the book was well written. Definitely a book worthy of a 5 stars.

ROO
BY:SHARON CAMERON
Ok so this book was amazing! I am giving it 4 stars. When I first picked this book up I was really skeptical, but I ended up really enjoying it! It has romance, action, humor, and even a little bit of mystery. This book had many twists and turns that I didn't see coming! Overall this book was a fast and a fun read I highly recommend!

SPOILERS
I really enjoyed all of the characters in this book. I thought Sophia was a strong and brave character that really kept me interested in the story. It is always nice to have a strong female lead. I also enjoyed how Sharon Cameron discussed the absurdity of gender roles. Sophia shocked many when it was discovered that it was actually her who was the Rook, instead of her kind brother Tom. This shocked many citizens and even the lead villain himself, Leblanc. Overall I really enjoyed how the author used Sophia to show that women can be heroes as well. Moving on to Sophie's charming fiance René Hassard who always kept me laughing. I thought the character development between Sophia and René was amusing and sweet. They went from hating each other, to not being able to let go of one another. The whole Hassard family turned out to be full of funny characters. I thought the Male lead was well written and fun to read about! MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IS TOM BELLAMY! Tom was so kind and strong throughout the whole story! His desire to protect his sister was so amazing and made me cry at some points! Tom is everything a girl looks for in a guy and I absolutely love him! I was so glad at the end of the story he found love and was finally able to find happiness! Now moving on to characters I did not like Leblanc and Spear. Leblanc was the villain of the story and an overall mad man. He relayed on crazy rituals and a flip of a coin to decide who should live and who should not. He was a well written evil character because my hatred for him grew as the story continued. Spear was Sophie's best friend and while he was not the villain of the story I was never able to connect with his character and felt no pain when he died. His jealousy of René caused him to make rash decisions that ultimately made me dislike him. While he had good intentions I never truly felt sorry that his love was unrequited. Overall this was an amazing book and I quite enjoyed the fun read!

RED QUEEN

OK! This book was amazing, it literally blew my mind! It was so good! What I particularly enjoyed about this book was that it had a little bit of everything. It had romance, action, humor, and LOADS of betrayal! This book constantly kept you on your toes and wanting more! I really enjoyed all of the characters, there was not a single character that I thought was irrelevant or not important. Overall this book gets 5 stars! It was well written and had a new and original plot. Victoria Aveyard did an amazing job and I can't wait to read more from her!

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!
MAVEN! I never saw that coming, I was angry and shocked! Honestly, I always wanted Mare to end up with Cal however I thought Maven was a good guy. WRONG! Maven turned out to be worse than his mother(Queen Elara)which I did not think anyone could be as AWFUL as her! In the next book I really hope Mare and Cal will redefine their relationship and open up to one another once more! But OMG that book was amazing! The plot twists were perfect and completely unexpected! This book has definitely made it into my top 10!

I forgot to mention anyone who wants to talk or needs advice feel free to leave a comment or something. There is no guarantee I can help but I can try!
Supernatural is such a good show! I have literally been watching it all weekend on Netflix, which might I add is the best thing created since Television itself! Dean and Sam are amazing and honestly I hope this show never ends! I'm only on Season 3 so i have a Long way to go! However I did hear that they hope the show goes for like 19 seasons or at least 12! So basically if you haven't watched it I advise you do!
